Armenia reaffirms commitment to open resident embassy in Uruguay

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Newly-appointed Ambassador of Uruguay to Armenia Eduardo Rosenbrock Bidart presented the copy of his credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan, the Foreign Ministry said.

Congratulating the Ambassador on appointment, the Armenian Deputy FM wished him productive work and success.

In turn the Ambassador of Uruguay thanked for the wishes and stated that he will make all efforts to further strengthen the traditional friendly relations between the two countries and enrich the Armenian-Uruguayan agenda.

The sides discussed a broad range of issues relating to the Armenian-Uruguayan relations, including the prospects of developing the political dialogue, the bilateral political and economic ties and the mutually beneficial cooperation in different areas.

The Armenian side reaffirmed its commitment to opening a resident embassy of Armenia in Montevideo within next year.

The Armenian deputy FM introduced the Uruguayan Ambassador on the current situation resulting from the latest Azerbaijani aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as a number of important humanitarian issues caused by the 44-day war and the Azerbaijani aggressions. The developments existing around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations and the positions of the Armenian side were presented.

A number of urgent regional and international issues were also discussed at the meeting.
