PM vows increasing budget revenues by 75%

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. According to the results of 2022, the tax revenues of Armenia’s budget will surpass that of 2018 by 662 billion drams, and the planned one for 2023 will increase by 946 billion drams, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the parliamentary standing committees’ debate of the 2023 state budget draft.

He reminded that their political force has made “several, very important and principled” promises during the Revolution. He personally promised that they will increase the budget revenues by 35-40% in 1-2 years. Pashinyan said this promise has been completely fulfilled.

“According to the results of 2022 we expect that the tax revenues of the budget will surpass the figure of 2018 by 662 billion drams or 1.6 billion dollars. This will pass the same figure of 2018 by 52.6%. In other words, in the course of our activities, we have increased the revenue part of the budget by 52% in 2022 compared to 2018. As for 2023, the tax revenues are planned to be 2 trillion 203.7 billion drams, which is more by 946 billion drams or 75.1% than the tax revenues of the 2018 state budget. So, let’s record that we are going to increase the revenues of the budget by 75% 4 years after the Revolution. This is the planned that we must implement. As for the budget of this year we expect that it will be overfulfilled by around 80 billion drams”, the PM added.
