AI to be taught in Armenian schools

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Academic courses on Artificial Intelligence will be held in certain schools of Yerevan and the Province of Tavush, the Founding CEO of Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) Armen Orujyan told reporters during the Global Innovation Forum 2022 in Yerevan.

“Artificial intelligence classes were held for the first time in Armenia. Nowhere around the world are there artificial intelligence courses in high schools. Teaching artificial intelligence to young people from high school will ensure big flow for both universities and companies seeking to work in AI,” Orujyan said.

Orujyan said there are no champions in AI. “If the United States is investing billions of dollars in AI it doesn’t decide its positions in the sector. For example, investing in an algorithmic solution of one Armenian young person could be more beneficial,” he said.
