Armenian PM will not attend upcoming SCO summit in Samarkand 

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan will not participate in the upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Samarkand due to the current situation, the PM’s Office said in a statement.

Earlier today Special Envoy of the Russian President for SCO Affairs Bakhtiyor Khakimov said that the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev confirmed their intention to participate in the SCO summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, scheduled on September 15-16.

On September 13, starting at 00:05, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a major military attack in several directions against Armenia, primarily using artillery and UAVs. 105 Armenian troops were killed and 6 civilians were wounded in the Azerbaijani attack. As of 18:00 today, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains tense.
