Parliament adopts amendments in Flag Code expanding display rules
YEREVAN, MARCH 23, ARMENPRESS. The opposition Hayastan bloc’s bill on amending the Law on the State Flag of Armenia passed parliament with 94 MPs voting in favor.
The bill expands the areas where the flag must be flown by law.
The state flag of Armenia shall always be flown on the buildings of public educational and higher educational institutions, state scientific, sports and cultural institutions and other institutions founded by the state or municipalities.
During the Republic Day and Independence Day, as well as the Constitution Day and other holidays of state symbols, the flag shall be flown at plazas, streets, parks and gardens in cities, as well as on buildings, including residential buildings (the list of which will be defined by mayors).
