Pashinyan tours Varchafest 2026 venue

1 minute read

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has toured the various stalls and booths set up as part of the Varchafest 2026 youth summer music festival on the shores of Lake Sevan.

He was accompanied by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan.

Pashinyan shared a video of the visit on his Facebook page.

Ahead of the Varchafest 2026 music competition-festival, being held at Sevan Festival City on the shores of Lake Sevan, attendees can enjoy a diverse program.

The festival aims to discover and support young bands, promote live music and establish an annual cultural tradition that will energize Armenia’s music scene.

The name “Varchafest” combines the Armenian word “varchapet,” meaning “prime minister,” with “fest.” The name is also a nod to Varchaband, the prime minister’s music band, in which Pashinyan plays the drums.

The festival’s official website lists Varchaband among the performers scheduled to take the stage on August 22.
