WATCH: Tactical unit raids Yerevan apartment, arrests attempted murder suspect

Law enforcement agencies reported on Friday afternoon that they have apprehended and taken into custody the suspect in an alleged attempted murder that occurred earlier in the day in Yerevan.

Shots were reportedly fired in the early hours of Friday on V. Hambardzumyan Street in Yerevan’s Arabkir district. One person was reportedly wounded. Police said they launched a criminal case for attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms, and that the suspect was initially at large.

Hours later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that officers from the criminal investigation division had identified and apprehended the suspect. It released a video showing armed officers from a tactical unit breaching an apartment and taking the suspect into custody without incident.

The suspect was arrested and the firearm used in the incident was recovered.
