Food prices in Armenia rose by 0.1% in October against 6% global rise

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. Food prices in Armenia rose by 0.1% in October 2019 against October 2018, while global food prices grew by 6%, ARMENPRESS reports Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page.

“According to the annual report of the UN FAO, in October 2019 global food prices rose by 6% against October of 2018, while in Armenia food prices grew by 0.1% in the same period.

This is mainly, if not entirely, resulted by strengthening of economic competitiveness. We remember very well what was happening in the past. In the global market food prices grew by 2%, for example, but in Armenia grew by 4-5%”, Pashinyan wrote.
