Armenian Government to discuss Venice Commission’s advisory opinion on Istanbul Convention

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Ministry of Justice has received the Venice Commission’s advisory opinion regarding the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, aka Istanbul Convention and it will be discussed by the Armenian government, Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan told reporters.

“We’ve received the Venice Commission’s opinion, it is being translated into Armenian, we must discuss it in the government,” he said.

Badasyan had applied to the Venice Commission for an advisory opinion regarding constitutional implications of ratifying the convention.
