President Sarkissian, spouse Nouneh Sarkissian visit Chinese Embassy in Armenia

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and spouse Nouneh Sarkissian today visited the Chinese Embassy in Yerevan to congratulate on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China, the Presidential Office told Armenpress.

On behalf of the Armenian people and himself personally President Sarkissian congratulated Ambassador Tian Erlong, the Embassy staff and in the person of them the Chinese people on their National Day- the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

“China is a friendly country that is close to us. It becomes more closer thanks to the Belt and Road project both economically and politically. We have a potential to further expand and deepen our relations with China”, the Armenian President said.

Ambassador Tian Erlong thanked the President for the visit and congratulations. “On the occasion of this day we have organized various events, but your today’s visit to the Embassy is the most important. We are ready to expand the cooperation between our countries. As an Ambassador I see a huge potential for the development of the relations”.

President Sarkissian and Ambassador Tian Erlong exchanged views on the development directions of the Armenian-Chinese relations, as well as the possibilities to organize a forum on China in Armenia by the President’s initiative. They also touched upon the cooperation opportunity with the frames of the new presidential initiative ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow) relating to science and technology development in Armenia.
