Greco-roman wrestler Karapet Chalyan wins first bout at world championship

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Greco Roman wrestler Karapet Chalyan has defeated 4:2 Japan’s Shohey Yabikuni in the 77kg division of the ongoing Nur-Sultan World Championship and qualified for the 1/8 finals.

Gevorg Gharibyan, another representative of Armenia, lost 7:0 to Uzbekistan’s Elmurad Tasmuradov.

So far Armenia has one medal at the championship (Slavik Galstyan, bronze).
