Armenian Consul General to Los Angeles visits Genocide Memorial in Fresno

YEREVAN, MARCH 18, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Consul General to Los Angeles Armen Baibourtian on March 16 visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Fresno, The Fresno Bee reports.

Baibourtian and the delegation members accompanying him laid flowers at the memorial, bowed their heads and stood silent in honor of the victims. “This monument is a symbol of prevention. It shows that no more tragedies like genocide should occur”, he said.

Talking about Fresno and its residents, the Armenian Consul General said he admires Fresno people as hardworking and important. He vowed to keep a constant eye on the region that has historically been a traditional destination for Armenian migration.

Armen Baibourtian stated that Armenia makes great efforts to improve its agricultural technology, and there is a lot to learn from Fresno and its farmers on this matter.
