Former deputy healthcare minister arrested in suspicion of misconduct

YEREVAN, MARCH 7, ARMENPRESS. Former Deputy Minister of Healthcare Vahan Poghosyan has been arrested in suspicion of misconduct during his tenure amid an ongoing investigation conducted by the Investigative Committee regarding misappropriations at the National Anti-Tuberculosis Center.

Authorities said the investigation has revealed that the corruption scheme was conducted by officials of the center from 2014 to 2018.

Poghosyan is suspected in misconduct. Authorities say he was involved in the scheme from 2011 to 2016, when he was in charge of coordinating the funding works for the AIDS and HIV prevention and tuberculosis prevention programs.
