3 wounded in Yerevan shootout, police launch manhunt for suspects

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 24, ARMENPRESS. Three men have been hospitalized for gunshot wounds Sunday evening in Yerevan.

The first victim was taken to hospital at 21:45, the other was admitted five minutes later, and the third man was hospitalized at 22:15.

The first two men have told police that they suffered the injuries in the same location. The other victim, however, has said that “he felt pain in his leg and heard a loud noise while driving his vehicle”, according to police. Doctors said he was shot in the leg. It happened in the same district – Erebuni.

Later in the evening, police officers found a parked Land Rover SUV that had multiple bullet holes and traces of blood. Another vehicle, a Toyota with similar damages, was also found nearby.

Various caliber bullet cases were found at the crime scene, police said.

All hospitalized victims have been identified.

Police said they have determined the circle of possible suspects but did not reveal more information citing the interests of the investigation.

Other details weren’t immediately clear.
