Expert on Iranian studies highlights ARMENPRESS-IRNA cooperation in spreading Armenian viewpoint in Iran

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Expert on Iranian studies Vardan Voskanyan considers 2017 a successful year for the Armenian-Iranian relations in terms of recording significant achievements in the fields of science and culture, reports Armenpress.
During the meeting with reporters, the expert especially highlighted the expansion of Armenian presence in the Iranian media which is a very good chance to make Armenia’s views visible in Iran. “This year there were reports on Armenia in the Iranian media. The two interviews of the Armenian President have been published in Shargh daily which presents the views of Iranian President Rouhani’s political branch, and in IRNA - Iran’s state news agency. Armenian experts also published articles in the Iranian leading newspapers”, Voskanyan said.
He also highlighted the interview of Artsakh’s foreign minister to the Shargh daily, which, according to the expert, received a great reaction in Azerbaijan since they consider the Armenian-Iranian partnership in this field dangerous for them.
In the context of cooperation of media outlets Vardan Voskanyan attached importance to the signing of cooperation agreement between ARMENPRESS and IRNA. “A field worth 80 million opens to Armenia. In terms of media Iran is one of the most developed countries, a considerable amount of newspaper is sold here”, the expert on Iranian studies said.
He added that mutual visits at expert level were held during 2017. “Only in recent months nearly 6-7 experts participated in numerous political discussions, round-table discussions, conferences in Iran which is very important in terms of properly presenting the Armenian stance in Iranian expert circles”, he said.
As for the achievements in the field of culture, the expert on Iranian studies especially highlighted the screening of Armenian-Iranian joint film in Yerevan which is an evidence of a good beginning of bilateral movie production. “The Iranian film-making has a worldwide reputation and it is strictly important for Armenia to have good cooperation paths with Iranians in this regard”, Vardan Voskanyan said.
