ARMENPRESS will remain Armenia’s leading news agency – Yerevan Mayor

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan congratulated ARMENPRESS news agency on the 99th anniversary of its establishment. The Mayor said he follows ARMENPRESS newsfeed.

“The state news agency with almost a century-old history is one of the achievements of our country, our statehood. During this long period Armenpress was always distinguished with its high professionalism, impartial coverage of events and balanced stance. Today as well Armenpress is one of the leaders in terms of reporting objective news, inclusion of coverage of events and maintaining the journalistic ethics. I once again congratulate on the agency’s anniversary, wish its entire staff new achievements and success, a loyal and constantly increasing audience. I am convinced that Armenpress will continue to remain the leading news agency of Armenia by maintaining the traditions formed for decades and constantly improving and increasing the ways and forms of providing news”, the Mayor said.

ARMENPRESS news agency was established on December 18, 1918 when by the decision of the National Council of the first Armenian Republic an unprecedented state-run news agency, Armenian Telegraph Agency, was created. Currently, ARMENPRESS news agency operates as a Closed Joint-Stock Company the stocks of which are owned by the Republic of Armenia. The agency is the oldest in Armenia. At the moment it produces eleven newslines: official, politics, economy, society, regional, international, Armenian world, culture, sport, life, innovation, interviews and photo news.
