Trump, Erdogan to discuss Qatar developments

YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS. US President Donald Trump has a planned phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the developments around Qatar, Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu said, according to Hurriyet.

The phone conversation will take place during the coming days.

Earlier on June 7, the Turkish parliament approved the deployment of troops in Qatar, which will also train the local forces.

It is noteworthy that this decision comes after seven Gulf states (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, Yemen and Maldives) announced severing diplomatic ties with Qatar, citing the country’s support for terrorism.

Erdogan called on the sides to dialogue, mentioning that Ankara will continue to develop its relations with Qatar.
