Opposition bloc Yelk accepts Yerevan election results

YEREVAN, MAY 15, ARMENPRESS. Yelk bloc’s Edmon Marukyan told a press conference the result of Yerevan City Council election have formed as result of voting of citizens’ who participated in the election.
“For the record, the election results formed as result of voting of citizens who participated in the election and Yelk bloc was able to the keep the vote of every citizen who voted for it”, Marukyan said while reading the bloc’s statement.
Nikol Pashinyan, mayoral candidate from the bloc, said he will withdraw his candidacy and work in the Parliament.
“We are not aware of withdrawal information regarding our other candidates. I don’t think withdrawals will happen, because our candidates who were elected to the Yerevan City Council had active participation in the campaigning. We haven’t yet discussed the issue of a Yelk bloc faction leader and secretary in the City Council. We’ll discuss and inform you”, Pashinyan said.
The opposition bloc Yelk received 21% votes in the May 14 Yerevan City Council election.
