Transport Minister briefs President Sargsyan on Ministry’s structural reforms

YEREVAN, MAY 3, ARMENPRESS. During a working meeting with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan briefed on the ongoing structural reforms in the Ministry, the process of settling a number of priority issues in the fields under the Ministry’s coordination and implementation of several programs, press service of the President’s Office told Armenpress.

In particular, the Minister reported to the President on the works of the maintenance and operation of state highways, measures to be taken under “Five-year road safety program (2017-2021) of the Republic of Armenia”, formation of the Republic’s common railway network and etc.

Minister Martirosyan also briefed on the current works carried out by the Ministry aimed at settling the key issues which were discussed during the President’s visits to various communities.

During the meeting issues relating to events aimed at boosting the development of IT sector, the steps on financing the field’s start-up companies, the legislative reforms in cyber-security sphere, as well as the works on establishing a cyber-security center of Armenia together with the concerned agencies were discussed.

Vahan Martirosyan also presented the current reforms aimed at modernizing the postal services.

The President gave respective instructions.
