Criminal case launched over illegal import of Azerbaijani apples to Armenia

YEREVAN, MAY 2, ARMENPRESS. The State Revenue Committee of Armenia carried out investigation aimed at revealing the details of appearance of Azerbaijani apples in various sale points, supermarkets and other places, the SRC told Armenpress.

Based on the investigation results it was revealed that people dealing with illegal business, who regularly crossed the border for trade, imported the agricultural products to Armenia by giving bribes to some workers of SRC Preclearance Control Departmentin Bagratashen checkpoint so that to avoid customs formulations.

A criminal case was filed over the abuses done by the SRC workers.

The SRC President tasked to set strict control on all border check points aimed at excluding such incidents.
