10 electoral districts set up for upcoming Yerevan City Council election

YEREVAN, APRIL 12, ARMENPRESS. The Central Electoral Commission has set up district centers ahead of the Yerevan City Council election.
10 district electoral commissions have been formed.
Currently one NGO, the Geghama Youth Regional Association, is registered to carry our observing of the election with 147 observers.
Organizations can apply to the CEC to carry our observing mission during the election until April 29.
The same deadline applies for media outlets.
The passport and visa department of the Police provided information on the number of voters in Yerevan to the CEC. 841973 people are eligible to vote in the Yerevan City Council election.
The Republican Party of Armenia, Yelk bloc and the Yerkir Tsirani party will take part in the election.
The Ruling Party’s proportional list is headed by the current Mayor Taron Margaryan, the list of Yelk bloc is headed by opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan, and Yerkir Tsirani’s list is headed by Zaruhi Postanjyan, president of the party.
The Yerevan City Council election will be held on May 14.
