Cadets of M. Melkonyan military-training college win awards in international training camp

YEREVAN, MARCH 2, ARMENPRESS. Students of the Monte Melkonyan military-training college have returned with awards from the international training camp. The college team took part in the February 11-22 15th “Young patriots” international gathering in Perm, Russia. More than 900 participants from 38 teams took part in the event from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Moldova, China, Tajikistan and Russia.

The Armenian team was named the winner of the “Honor and dignity” nomination, and was awarded with a cup and medals.

Lt. Colonel Karen Avagyan, deputy head of the educational dept. of the college, told a press conference in ARMENPRESS the Armenian team was taking part in the event for already the 7th time. The event is military-training in essence, the skills of the participants was tested.

“This was a rather unprecedented large gathering, and out team won the “Honor and dignity” award by displaying high moral features and high level of physical training. We had big successes in the militarized sport styles”, he said.

One of the competitions included disassembling and reassembling a Makarov handgun, where the Russian military experts were simply amazed on the abilities of the Armenian team, the Armenian students were able to disassemble and reassemble the gun in just 2-3 seconds.
