YEREVAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS. Armenia wants to utilize the great potential of the Diaspora in all the areas, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan announced at the National Assembly during a Q&A session with the parliament.
“We have talked about and presented the program of the 1st stage of our activities numerous times. We announced 2017 as the year of diagnosing and making some structural changes within the governance system. And we have come to the conclusion that our main capital is the individual where the Diaspora can have a vital say. It’s a simple truth that we will not record serious achievements in case we continue in the same pace. We have a fantastic great potential in the Diaspora in all the spheres and we called on them to use that potential here and clearly indicated the ways they can do that. We expect our compatriots to themselves formulate proposals of how they see their participation in the development of Armenia”, “Armenpress” reports the PM saying as a comment to his recent call addressed to the Diaspora.
The PM added that Armenia has great opportunities for the development of the IT sector but lacks qualified specialists. The educational system is unable to rapidly adapt to the requirements of the market. According to the PM, the educational system is capable of supplying only the 25% of the market requirements. “We assume that our compatriots from the Diaspora will respond to our call and in that case we will move forward in a coordinated manner”, the PM concluded.
