PM Karapetyan says increasing taxes in mining sector is illogical

YEREVAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan finds increasing taxes in the mining sector to be illogical.

During a Q&A in the Parliament, in response to lawmaker Tigran Urikhanyan’s inquiry, the PM stressed investors have issues with taxes of that sector, therefore additional taxes won’t be a right step.

“In addition, if I’m not mistaken, your team was saying taxes shouldn’t be increased in crisis situations. If your team knows how to increase taxes, you will do it, if you win the upcoming election”, he said.
