Lawmakers unanimously elect Levon Yolyan as Chairman of Control Chamber

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 28, ARMENPRESS. The Parliament unanimously elected Levon Yolyan as Chairman of the Control Chamber of Armenia. Chairman of the temporary counting committee Sukias Avetisyan said 101 members of parliament took part in the voting. “99 lawmakers voted in favor of Levon Yolyan for the post of Chairman of the Control Chamber, 2 ballots were found to be invalid. Levon Yolyan has been elected as Chairman of the Control Chamber”, he said.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov congratulated Yolyan, saying : “I hope your work with the Parliament of the next convocation will be productive and for the benefit of development and strengthening of our country”, Sharmazanov said.

In his speech, Yolyan firstly thanked the President of Armenia for the confidence and nominating him in the important and responsible post. “Let me say that I always follow the work of the parliament with great attention, and the kind, warm atmosphere during the debate on my nomination was a very pleasant surprise for me. I am grateful to all the good assessments. It is very binding”, Yolyan said. “I very well understand what a great role the Control Chamber can have in the development of the economy”, he added.
