Spring is nearing, says chief meteorologist of Armenia

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 18, ARMENPRESS. Gagik Surenyan, head of the meteorological center of the Hydromet Service says spring is near. “According to initial forecasts, warm air currents are already moving towards Armenia from African regions. We are now clarifying when the air currents will reach specifically and the temperature increase, we will inform additionally”, he said.
A severe low thermal background was recorded overnight in Armenia. The average temperature was lower by 10-15 degrees than the climatic norm, Gagik Surenyan, head of the meteorological center of Hydromet Service said on Facebook.
The temperature reached -30 degrees in Ashotsk, -28 in Tsakhkahovit, -26-27 in Gavar, Gyumri, Aparan, Vardenis, -23-24 in Sisian, Tashir, Amasia, Hrazdan, Martuni, Shorzha, and -18-22 in the Ararat Plain.
