Ministry attaches importance to involvement of technologies, knowledge and experience in agricultural sector

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Armen Harutyunyan on December 2 summarized the results of the joint projects between the Ministry and international organizations during 2016 and presented the upcoming works, reports “Armenpress”.

The Deputy Minister said importance is attached to the involvement of technologies, knowledge and experience into Armenia’s agricultural sector within the frames of the joint work with international organizations.

“All projects in the agriculture sector, that are being implemented by international organizations and NGOs, are usually in compliance with the 2010-2020 strategy for sustainable development of agriculture. Currently we are holding talks in order the new projects be in compliance with the provisions of the program adopted by the Government”, the Deputy Minister said.

He stated that the Agriculture Ministry works with structures such as the UN, USAID, the EU delegation. “We are also working with the development agencies of separate states – France, Austria and Switzerland”, he said.

Deputy Minister Harutyunayn attached importance to the improvement of educational sector and the consulting system.

“Within this framework the establishment of the 15th consulting center completed during 2016, which will provide consulting service for animal-husbandry and plant-growing sectors”, he said adding that the Agriculture Ministry on the one hand works on improving the services provided by the state consulting system, and on the other hand, it also tries to develop the private consulting organizations.
