YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian “ARMENPRESS” state news agency and Georgia’s GHN news agency are bringing cooperation to a new level. Director of ARMENPRESS Mr. Aram Ananyan received Caretaker and Editor-in-chief of Georgia’s GHN news agency Mr. Teimuraz Chumburidze’s delegation.

The directors discussed cooperation agenda, which according to Aram Ananyan is quite rich.

“We outlined upcoming actions, programs, discussed our experience in the news field. We presented our experience in social media, issues related to formation of media products etc.”, Aram Ananyan said.

Information exchange is already underway regarding upcoming important events in both countries. Aram Ananyan said that it’s important for small agencies, since it is impossible to provide presence in all countries, therefore the possibility is increasing due to similar cooperation. According to him, an agreement has been reached to boost coverage particularly in economic and tourism fields, cultural events, in order for the societies of both countries to know one another better.

“We will attempt to build a journalistic bridge. As real friends we are able to have an open and honest dialogue regarding many issues”, Aram Ananyan added.

Caretaker and editor-in-chief of GHN news agency Mr. Teimuraz Chumburidze attached importance to cooperation with news agencies of different countries and mentioned that it reveals new approaches.

“There is great potential in cooperation with “ARMENPRESS” news agency. We can work together in different fields, make rapid information exchange, get to know one another’s experience, by that develop and improve our work”, Chumburidze said.

According to him, news agencies operating with professional approaches have a big role in the modern period. Being loyal to professionalism, these news agencies can be a good example in the media field.

“Competition is very big today. Many media outlets can allow themselves to publish street level rumors as information or present such articles the headlines of which differ from the article, something you won’t see in professional news agencies. The latter can be a good example in that issue”, Chumburidze added.
