96 convicts released on parole within 10 months

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. 96 convicts have been released on parole in Armenia during the period of January 1 – November 1. Bills are currently being elaborated in the parole system of the Justice Ministry, which will lead to several reforms, Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan told ARMENPRESS.

According to Krmoyan, a legislative bill package has been put into circulation by the ministry, aimed at increasing the parole institution.

It is planned to form a clear differentiation mechanism of functions of the administration of correctional institutions and independent commissions, as well as facilitating the system, which suggests the presence of two circles in granting parole to convicts – independent commission and court, Krmoyan told ARMENPRESS.
