Italy’s foreign minister pays homage to memory of Armenian Genocide victims

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Italy’s FM Paolo Gentiloni visited on November 8 the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial and paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Gentiloni was accompanied by Deputy FM of Armenia Karen Nazaryan and Director of the Armenian Genocide museum-institute Hayk Demoyan.

Minister Gentiloni laid a wreath at the memorial, laid flowers at the eternal flame with members of the delegation and honored the memory of the victims with a moment of silence.

Hayk Demoyan presented the history of the Memorial’s construction, and explained the symbolic meaning of the stele.

Before leaving the Memorial, Demoyan gave an English copy of a book on international media coverage of the Armenian Genocide.
