YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Ankara's decision tosend troops toIraq will lead toTurkey’s eventual breakup, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi warned the neighbor onTuesday, Sputnik News reports.
"Any invasion byTurkey inIraq will lead toits breakup," the prime minister said, asquoted byAl Mayadeen news channel.
Baghdad does not want a war withAnkara butis ready forit, Abadi threatened, aftermedia reported Turkey was pulling armored vehicles and tanks totheir joint border.
Turkey has been seeking an active role inthe Iraqi military operation torecapture the Islamic State (ISIL or Daesh) stronghold ofMosul innorthern Iraq. Turkey sent troops acrossthe border late last year toallegedly train Sunni fighters ata base nearthe Daesh-held Iraqi town ofBashiqa, prompting protests fromBaghdad.
The Iraqi PM earlier said the Iraqis are united and will stand together against an attack. “This territory and its sovereignty are ours”, he said.
