Honorary citizens of Yerevan congratulate on capital’s 2798th anniversary

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan celebrates 2798th anniversary under the slogan “The City of Sun”, reports “Armenpress”.

A number of honorary citizens of Yerevan congratulated on Yerevan Day.

One of them is People’s Artist of Armenia Rafayel Kotanjyan. He said he is devoted to his capital very much and contributed to the maintenance of the capital’s beauty since early childhood. “I call everyone to love our capital and wish the capital to become a city of happiness for all of us”, he said.

Another honorary citizen, composer, conductor Yervand Yerznkyan said Yerevan is the world’s best city for him with its buildings, people. “Despite people migrate from Yerevan, there are still people who stay here and maintain Yerevan’s face”, Yerznkyan said.

Albert Azaryan – honorary President of the Armenian Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Armenian gymnastics federation – wished the people of Yerevan to live happy and healthy.

Scientist Viktor Hambardzumyan was first to be awarded with the title of honorary citizen of Yerevan in 1983.
