YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Armenia issued a clarification over the report published in media on Armenia’s participation in the World Nomad Games.

“Armenpress” presents the full clarification:

“Responding to the reports in the media, we want to state the Republic of Armenia is not officially represented in the World Nomad Games launched in Kyrgyzstan. Armenian Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan informed about this to Sports Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Games Belek Usenbekov through an official letter (27.07.2016). We also inform that the organizers of the Games have applied to the Armenian separate sports federations, and certain athletes, as individuals, have departed to take part in the Games by their own initiative and finance without informing the Armenian Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.

We officially announce that the Armenian Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs will continue its initiatives of licensing the sports federations giving it the force of law which will allow to exclude such independent activities of the sports federations and individual athletes will be deprived from the opportunity to take part in the international tournaments as a representative of Armenia”.
