Special Investigation Service of Armenia clarifies circumstances of contraband import of 5 tons of psychotropic substance

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Private entrepreneur N. T. acquired 5 tons of psychotropic substance used in manufacture of paints called “Toluene” in the Russian Federation and illegally imported to Armenia on 25.07.16 without relevant license.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia, investigation revealed that importing the mentioned psychotropic substance, the documents were submitted to the customs officers of Bagratashen subdivision of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia who allowed the entrepreneur to import the substance.

TheSpecial Investigations Servicehas initiateda criminal case against the customs officers for displaying negligent attitude towards their duties.
