“International Youth Day” celebrated in Gyumri, Armenia

GYUMRI, AUGUST 12, ARMENPRESS. The “International Youth Day” has been celebrated in the Armenian city of Gyumri. A number of ceremonies entitled “Youth city 2016” has been held in various parts of the city which were organized by “Youth Initiative Center” NGO and SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Center, reports “Armenpress”.

Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan received the youth in the Gyumri Municipality’s session hall, congratulated all of them on the Youth Day, and awarded certificates and books to those young people who conducted more activities in various organizations within a year.

Later EXPO-exhibition of youth organizations was held where youth, cultural, educational and scientific organizations, centers, informal groups were taking part.

The ceremonies will end with a concert in Gyumri’s central square.

Gyumri has been recognized as a city of Youth in 2016.

Numerous cultural events are going to be held in the city during the year.
