Over 4400 firefighters battle forest fires in Portugal

YEREVAN, AUGUST 8, ARMENPRESS. More than 4400 firefighters are involved in forest fires extinguishing works across Portugal, reports RIA Novosti.

The National Civil Protection Authorityof Portugal reports almost 1,500 vehicles and 32 water-dumping aircraft were deployed at 700 wildfires.

The major wildfires are near city of Aveiro.

The fires spread quickly through mainly sycamore forests.

Currently there is no information about the number of affected from the forest fires.
