Armen Gevorgyan appointed Secretary of National Security Council

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan appointed Armen Gevorgyan as Secretary of National Security Council on June 6.

The President introduced A. Gevorgyan to the Council’s senior staff, congratulated him and wished success.

President Sargsyan mentioned Gevorgyan’s great experience will allow him to carry out the difficult responsibilities of the Secretary.

“ I am confident he will once again show to the public and the state, that the National Security Council is an important circle in the state management system”, President Sargsyan said.

Armen Gevorgyan thanked the President for the confidence, and said : “ I am sure, by joint efforts we will justify all expectations of this structure”.

Gevorgyan has previously held high ranking posts.

In 2008, he was appointed Minister of Territorial Administration/Vice-Prime Minister.
