Armenian letter domain zone already active: “.հայ” (.arm)

YEREVAN, MAY 4, ARMENPRESS. The ministry of transport and communication activated the “.հայ” (.arm) domain zone. The first official domain with Armenian letters will be the President’s website: “նախագահ.հայ” – meaning president.arm.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Tadevosyan emphasized the Armenian letter domain zone’s role in uniting Armenians around national values, preserving the Armenian language in the Diaspora.

The domain is expected to promote the usage of Armenian in the web.

The “.am” domain was provided to Armenia in 1994 and registered by “Internet society” NGO. The same NGO was provided with the “.հայ” domain management.
