Armenia 3rd most militarized country in the world, Azerbaijan 8th

YEREVAN, APRIL 20, ARMENPRESS. According to the Bonn International Center for Conversion report, Armenia is the 3rd most militarized country in the world. As “Armenpress” reports, according to the Index, the most militarized country is Israel, followed by Singapore. 3rd is Armenia, followed by Jordan, South Korea, Russia, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Kuwait and Greece.

The report noted that 5.8 % of Armenian GPD is spent on the military. In the case of Azerbaijan, again 5.8% of its GDP was aimed at the military; however Armenia exceeds Azerbaijan by the number of soldiers per 1000 population.

The report says that Armenia and Azerbaijan invest huge resources to modernize and expand armaments because of the NKR conflict.
