Özbiliz promises to score lots of goals in Beşiktaş FC

YEREVAN, JANUARY 25, ARMENPRESS. Aras Özbiliz, member of the Armenian national football team who signed a contract with one of the famous Turkish football clubs “Beşiktaş”, spoke on the channel of the football club about his transfer and about his first impressions in Turkey.

“I am good, I am happy, there was a little tension in the beginning, but everything went well,” “Armenpress” reports, Özbiliz said. At the TV hosts’ request, the footballer talked about his experience at Dutch “Ajax” and the Russian “Kuban” and “Spartak”football clubs.

In reply to the question what he thinks about the Beşiktaş fans, Özbiliz replied: “I have heard that they are the best fans. I hope we will have good relations. I will do my best for that.”

Footballer of the Armenian national team is hopeful that he will score lots of goals in Beşiktaş.

“Our ultimate goal is the Champions League,” he said.

Aras Özbiliz is an Armenian football player who currently plays right-winger for the Armenian national team and for Rayo Vallecano on loan from Beşiktaş.

Aras was born on 9 March 1990 in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul, Turkey to Armenian parents. He was named after the Aras River, a body of water in Armenia. His ancestors adopted the surname "Özbiliz", literally meaning "one, who preserves his identity." In the early 1990s, his family emigrated from Turkey to the Netherlands. Five years later, he started playing football for the youth team of HVV Hollandia. When he was eight years old, Aras joined the youth team of Ajax. While playing for the youth team, Ozbiliz received two serious injuries, first tearing a cruciate knee ligament, after which he needed an operation, and then a shoulder injury.

He signed for Beşiktaş in 2016. His former clubs include “Ajax”, “Kuban” and “Spartak”.
