YEREVAN, NOVEMEBER 24, ARMENPRESS. ANOCsecretary general Hrachya Rostomyan considers unnecessary talks on the list of the best athletes of the year. It is particularly unclear for sport lovers why Levon Aronian and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were not included in the list. Hrachya Rostomyan referred to this question during the final summary conference of the year mentioning that sport journalists chose the best athletes. “The top ten athletes were selected by sports journalists and I agree with those ten. Of course, Henrik Mkhitaryan and Aronian are great athletes and bring great prestige to the Republic of Armenia but this issue should not be subject to public review every year,” Hrachya Rostomyan said, as “Armenpress” reports.
He added that in the case of existence of “Audience” or “Armenia recognition-raising” awards, he would grant it to Henrikh Mkhitaryan. “Henrikh Mkhitaryan is playing very good football in Borussia Dortmund, glory to him,” Rostomyan added.
