Interest towards figure skating to increase in Armenia

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Figure skaters can train not only abroad but also in Armenia. The sport will develop in Armenia thank to opening of “Sport Schoolfor FigureSkatingand Ice Hokey afterIrina Rodnina”. Coaches of Figure Skating Federation of Armenia expressed such a viewpoint on December 21. “We used to train our sportsmen abroad but now we have a sport school in line with international standards. Our dream has come true, we hope to have champions. Currently 7-8 coaches work in the school, later the number will increase. We hope that this school will not be the last one”, “Armenpress” reports, Coach Ellen Hambardzumyan mentioned.

According to her, this is one of the most healthful sports. “This is a sport but it is also art. Boys often say that this sport is for girls, I cannot agree, this sport is not for weak boys”, Ellen Hambardzumyan mentioned, stating that children take classes free of charge.

In the words of the coach, Irina Rodina will pay visits to Armenia, and will work with the coaches and the sportsmen.
