Diyarbakir bar association president detained

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS. A bar association president in southeastern Diyarbakir province was detained late Monday for not considering PKK a terrorist group. “Armenpress” reports the aforementioned referring to Demokrathaber.net.

As Anadolu news agency reports earlier Monday, Istanbul's Bakirkoy Chief Public Prosecutor's office had passed an order against Tahir Elci after he referred to the PKK terrorist organization as an "armed political movement"with "serious support".

The prosecutor'soffice accused Elci of "making terrorist propaganda"in his televised remarks to news channelCNN Turk on Oct. 14.
