Politologist: Armena-EU new agreement can contribute to deepen relations of CSTO-EU

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Armenia-European Union new prepared document will have a special format. If EU signed association agreements of various deepening and seriousness since now, then in case of Armenia, it will not be considered as Association agreement, but it will be a unique document which will replace the heretofore existing agreement of cooperation signed in 1999. Political scientist Sergey Minasyan expressed such view in the meeting with journalists.

According to his speech, the preparations made for several months by the sides already become a reality. “Question of the new document is not discussed at this moment, but a real discussion process will held around a new legal document which will refer to questions of economical, and political block, visa liberalization, and to the programs of supporting Armenia in the sectors of democracy and human rights”, Sergey Minasyan told, as “Armenpress” reports.

Referring to Armenia’s “and, and” policy and Russia’s response over new developing relations with European Union, Sergey Minasyan mentioned. “I do not think that Russia will indicate serious anxiety. On the contrary, Russia will be more interested to find new ways of cooperation with EU. For instance, Armenia can at least academically be a good variant, and in this case the issue of synchronization between CSTO and EU can be discussed.”
