YEREVAN, SEPTMEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. There is no need to involve peacekeepers In Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone, as Armenian armed forces are able to restrain provocations from the side of Azerbaijan. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov said about this in the interview with the journalists after the official opening of CSTO “Indestructible Brotherhood 2015” military exercises. “During the last 15 days, the Azerbaijani side used several thousand missiles and mines, which exploded in Armenian quite dwelling areas, villages, positions, in the result of which innocent civilians were killed. We gave an appropriate answer in the result of which they have serious losses. As contrasted with Azerbaijan, we do not shoot in the direction of the peaceful civilians of the villages”, emphasized Khachaturov, as “Armenpress” reports.
“The representatives of the Armenian Defense Ministry regularly visit border villages, meet with the residents, inform them about the taken measures, emphasizing that it is hard to explain to the society, why peaceful residents are killed. Khachaturov emphasized that it is impossible to prevent all the incidents, as the enemy enhanced the caliber of the weapons and uses mortars”.
