Ambassador of Turkmenistan wants to develop Armenia-Turkmenistan tourism relations

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. Armenia and Turkmenistan have very warm relations. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhammetniyaz Mashalov gave such an evaluation to the bilateral relations between the countries in his interview with “Armenpress”.

“Cooperation between Armenia and Turkmenistan is friendly, we always support each other, there are no disagreements. We are always in favour of peace and tolerance. We have warm, friendly relations with Armenia. Turkmenistan culture days were held in Yerevan, as well as in the regions: Vanadzor, Gyumri in March, this year ,” noted Muhammetniyaz Mashalov, assuring that bilateral events would be held also in the future.

Ambassador noted that Armenia and Turkmenistan must work on developing bilateral tourism relations, adding that Serzh Sargsyan had visited Turkmenistan in 2014.

In regards to cooperation in the field of education, Mashalov noted that 50-60 from Turkmenistan studied in Armenia.

Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan were established on October 9, 1992. The Embassy of Armenia has been operating in Turkmenistan since July, 1994. Vladimir Badalyan has been the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Turkmenistan since September, 2008.
