Explosion in Turkey felt in Ararat province

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Military operations between Turkey armed forces and Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) (which is considered terrorist group in Turkey) have been in progress for 2 months in Turkey Eastern provinces. “Armenpress” was informed from the Press service of the Ministry ofTerritorialAdministration and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armeniathat an alarm call was received at 09.46, Sept. 8 that explosion was heard in Ranchparvillage of Ararat province.
It turned out that the explosion occurred in the territory of Turkey - 5 km away from Noramarg village, Ararat province.
A number of regions in Turkey were announced “special security zones” by local authorities as a result of recent intensive attacks and terrorist activities in the eastern parts of the country. TheAğrı (Ararat) Provincial administration declared Mount Araratand Tondrak “temporary militarysecurityzones”for a period of 15 days.
A number of areas in Tunceli Province (former Dersim) were also declared “special security zones” August 4-19.
