Victor Rebets considers realistic Iran-Armenia railway construction

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Victor Rebets, Chief Executive Officer and Director, Close Joint Stock Company South Caucasus Railway considers realistic the construction of Iran-Armenia railway emphasizing the importance of the project for the Republic of Armenia.

“You are aware that Armenian PM will discuss the issue with his Chinese colleague. I consider the construction of this railway realistic but it will take a long time.”, “Armenpress” reports, Rebets stated the aforementioned, adding that it is a significant project for Armenia.

Gagik Beglaryan, the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Armenia announced after Government session August 18 that the Armenia-Iran railway is very important for the Chinese and the President of China allocated sums of money for that. “China is interested in restoring “Silk Road”. For that reason many Chinese organizations doing business related to such projects are interested to have their unique place in the construction of that railway.”, said Gagik Beglaryan.

The Minister also noted that nobody had ever said that the construction of the Armenia-Iran railway would be easy.”We will do our best to overcome problems related to that. We have never declared that the construction will be easy and that we don’t have serious problems. The railway construction is necessary for all of us”, said the Minister.
