YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. The tense situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line coincide with the trends of the last years. “Armenpress” reports that the Director of the CaucasusInstitute, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan expressed such a viewpoint in an interview with journalists.

According to Iskanadaryan, the tension will be continues but the resumption of large scale operation is impossible. This time the rival incited tension because of the “Shant-2015” MilitaryCommand and Staff Exercises, RF Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s visit to Azerbaijan as well as because of decrease in oil prices, which, Iskandaryan believes, is an important precondition.

As refers to the possibility of resuming war by Azerbaijan, the expert noted that “the quality and quantity of the rival’s military arsenal force him to demonstrate restraint. Azerbaijan has zero chances to win the war”.

Iskandaryan thinks that in case of alleged resumption of the war, it may last 5-10 days which will cause huge damage to the Baku administration and even its elimination.
