UEFA to make all efforts for Mkhitaryan’s participation in match with “Qäbälä”

YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS. UEFA will make all efforts to enable the midfielder of Borussia Dortmund and Armenia national football team, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, to participate in the outgoing match of “Borussia” against Azerbaijani “Qäbälä”.

UEFA General Secretary GianniInfantino hoped that all footballers would be permitted to take part in the tournament irrespective of politics. Infantino told about this during the press conference held on August 28 in Monaco.

2015/16UEFAChampions League group stage draw took place in Nyon city of Switzerland on August 28. The German “Borussia Dortmund”, where the midfielder of the national team of Armenia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan plays, is included in group C and will compete with PAOK, Russian Krasnodar and Azerbaijani Qäbälä in the group stage. Soon information was spread by Azerbaijani media that Mkhitaryan may not get the visa or can even be arrested by Azerbaijani authorities. Borussia Dortmund hoped that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not encounter any problems during his visit to Azerbaijan to play against “Qäbälä” within the framework of Europa League.
